International Exchange 2016

The Hockaday School

Micaela Seijo and María Parise, two of our fifth year students, spent  January at Hockaday School in Dallas, Texas as part of the International Exchange Programme.

This is what two of the teachers wrote about them once they left Hockaday School.

We really feel very proud of both of them

"It was a delightful experience to have María join our Advisory during her visit to Hockaday. She interacted right away with the students and shared her life as well as what people do in Argentina right away. Day after day, I observed she was loving it more and more. She learned a lot about the culture here in the United States and enjoyed hearing what the other students were sharing. She was always ready to participate in the conversation, even when she found it difficult. Her level of comprehension and speaking was great and she found it easy to communicate. I believe her hardest class was US History, because it is a very advanced course and she expressed to me that the content was very elevated. Additionally, I asked her to join one of my AP Spanish classes where she interacted with the students in her native language and she found it fascinating to be able to compare cultures. "

"María always had a smile on her and seemed to enjoy every moment of her visit. It was impressive to observe how well she adapted and communicated, not only with students, but with faculty as well. "

"Thank you for making this happen for the students, because they all benefited from her visit, and I am sure María did too."
